i3c – 2025

About i3C 2025

Integrity and performance of engineering component and infrastructure is the one of the foremost requirements for sustainable growth of a country. This has attracted scientists and technologists to probe into the various aspects of material degradation. Corrosion is among the most prominent and often the only reason attributing to material loss or component failure. Among various mitigation strategies, coating and surface engineering are the most versatile and acceptable solutions in industries. The IIM Jamshedpur Chapter in association with Tata Steel Limited, CSIR-NML and NIT Jamshedpur is pleased to organise the International Conference on Corrosion and Coating (i3C). This conference provides a platform to researchers, academia, industries, corrosion control & coating providers and technologists to share technical advances, challenges and solutions. iC3 aims to cover various areas on corrosion and coatings including the following:

  1. Sustainable advancements in corrosion prevention and coating
  2. Hot dip, thermal spray, CVD, PVD, MAO, nitriding and laser coatings
  3. Aqueous, non-aqueous (electroless, electroplating, electrophoretic)
  4. Functional coatings, passivation and thin organic coatings
  5. Corrosion in oil & gas, chemical, nuclear & thermal power plants, construction, mobility, industries
  6. Localized corrosion, high temperature oxidation and corrosion
  7. Corrosion monitoring, auditing, failures analysis and prevention
  8. Corrosion modelling and prediction
  9. Hydrogen resistance coatings for pipelines
  10. Advanced nano-materials usage for functionalities like anti-corrosion, Thermal barriers, and  energy storage & generation

Conference Venue and Dates

The conference will be held during February 6-7, 2025 in Jamshedpur. Known as the Steel City of India, Jamshedpur is an industrial city founded by Late Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata. It is located in the eastern part of India in the resource rich state of Jharkhand. Besides being an industrial hub, Jamshedpur is a popular tourist destination with Dimna lake, Jubilee park, Chandil dam, Dalma hills, Dasam fall, Zoological park and the laser show as some of the attractions. Jamshedpur is well connected with all the major Indian cities by train. An international airport is situated at Kolkata at a distance of 250 km and Ranchi at a distance of 131 KM from Jamshedpur.
